What it's like
A strategic planner sets priorities for a business and develops a plan of action. It can involve leading a creative meeting around a new product or developing a business growth strategy.
You’ll rely heavily on your analytical skills. As a problem solver, you’ll need excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strategic planning is a dynamic and continuous process. It involves assessing where a company currently stands, what the vision is for the future and how to get there.
Your tasks might include:
helping to shape the growth of a company
monitoring the latest industry trends and identifying new sales opportunities
developing a plan of action for achieving company goals
writing and presenting reports to senior management supported by research

Hours
You’ll typically work full-time hours, Monday to Friday, with occasional over-time to meet deadlines.

Environment
Your work would normally be office-based.
