Discover Careers in Transport: Bus Route Detective: Year Group S1-S3

The department of transport invites S1–S3 students to become a Bus Route Detective and choose the smartest route! In this free virtual career challenge, students use real-world transport data to investigate different bus routes and recommend the best option. Students will: • Join a live 45-minute briefing and meet transport professionals • Work independently or with a friend to complete the career challenge • Work towards a 10-day submission deadline, developing valuable time-management skills • Build essential problem-solving, data literacy and presentation skills • Discover the variety of careers available across transport, data and digital • Receive a certificate on completion The challenge brings careers learning to life, giving students the opportunity to experience how data is used to solve real-world transport problems while building confidence, curiosity and essential workplace skills. Delivered entirely online, the challenge can be completed from anywhere. Following the live industry briefing, students have 10 days to investigate the challenge, develop their solution and submit their work.
